Research misconduct means fabrication, falsification, or plagiarism in proposing, conducting, or reporting research, or other practices that seriously deviate from those commonly accepted in the research community. It does not include honest error or honest differences of interpretation or judgment.
The Office of the Provost receives allegations of research misconduct and is responsible for handling them. People involved are treated confidentially to the maximum extent possible, and those who raise concerns in good faith are protected.
