Academic Programs & Advising administers three small funds that support faculty engagement with students in and around courses. All three use one request form, and the How-To Guide for Faculty Funding walks through payment and the worktags for each fund.

Speaker Fund
A limited amount of money is available on a first-come, first-served basis to bring guest lecturers to speak in a particular class. The honorarium is $100 per guest, and faculty are limited to one request per year. Each guest must complete a Standard Engagement Contract and W-9 before a Supplier Invoice Request is submitted in Workday.
Departments may also have their own speaker funds; ask your department chair.
First Year Course (FYC) Fund
Faculty teaching a first-year course may access $200 to support an activity related to the course — food, bus transportation, tickets to a play, and similar.
Tom Leonard Fund
The Tom Leonard Fund reimburses faculty for food and non-alcoholic beverages when entertaining students in faculty homes or on campus. See the Leonard Fund guidelines for limits and requirements.
Payment
After the event, submit the appropriate repayment: an expense report for out-of-pocket costs, a journal entry request if a departmental p-card was used, or a supplier invoice request for honoraria.
